About Betty Lou Barry

My flair for art began in early childhood. Although I have some formal art education at Syracuse University and the Art Students League in New York City, I am mostly self-taught. If I had to choose what gave me the most inspiration, it was the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. My earlier careers were in advertising and interior design.

I have had the opportunity to travel to many locations to enhance my visual inspiration. The parks, waterfalls, rain forests, and zoos are the inspiration for my wildlife paintings. The streets of Paris, seaside scenes of Italy, towns in South America and Europe, as well as flower markets throughout the world have sparked my desire to put them on canvas. I especially love the vibrant colors of all those locations.

All the paintings on my website are available for as giclee reproductions on art canvas or paper.

I am presently under contract with an international art licensing company where images of my original paintings are reproduced for jig saw puzzles, fabrics and a wide variety of products. Many of my paintings are in art shows and gallery representation.
